Bright Media is a web design and development company that specialises in creating custom websites. We create websites that are not only good looking, but that are compliant and search-engine friendly.
We love working with people to create or recreate their online presence, and thrive on the fact that we can give them one-on-one personalised service. We also appreciate the fact that website construction can be hard to understand, so we try to speak English instead of "jargon".
As a small business we take pride in being able to provide our clients honest and reliable face-to-face service.
Company History
Bright Media began in 2004 and is the small creative business of Mary Parks, a web designer and developer based in West Auckland, New Zealand.
The business began under the name Cut+Paste, as an identity to carry out personal projects, but this soon evolved to full time and became Bright Media.
Who's behind Bright Media?
Mary Parks
Hi! I'm Mary, and I have over 10 years experience in web and graphic design.
I’ve been creating and maintaining an internet presence in some shape or form since early 1997, infact a very small number of my clients remember my pseudonym "codegirl".
It was through this hobby that I learned to handcode HTML and use Adobe Photoshop. Since then, the hobby evolved into a serious passion - one that I decided to pursue professionally. In 1999 I graduated with a Certificate in Electronic Multimedia, with excellence in Web Design.
Six years of my professional career were spent as part of the web team at IDG Communications Ltd (now Fairfax Business Media, publishers of PC World, Computerworld Magazine) as their sole Web Designer.
Mid-2004 I began to persue freelance projects seriously and then in April 2006 I began Bright Media full-time.
I continually update myself regarding technology and design, and believe in keeping up with web standards and expectations. I thrive on the continual learning curve that web design gives and am an active member in many online communities.
Jeff Parks
You'll frequently hear my husband Jeff's voice on the end of the phone in the Bright Media office.
Its his job to keep our invoicing up-to-date, as well as lending a hand to build and maintain our regular clients websites.
